53-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Killed in DUI Collision near Chapman Avenue
GARDEN GROVE, CA (November 9, 2022) – Sunday, Alexis Lopez was arrested and a man was killed in a pedestrian crash on Brookhurst Street.
The incident happened on November 6th, at about 1:55 a.m., in the 12000 block of Brookhurst Street near Chapman Avenue.
According to reports, a 53-year-old man was walking in the area when a vehicle struck him, leaving him with serious injuries. The driver, Lopez, then fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim.
First responders arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. There, medics pronounced the 53-year-old man dead, due to the extent of his condition.
At this time, authorities are withholding his identity pending notification of his next of kin.
Police later located and arrested 26-year-old Alexis Lopez on charges of DUI and manslaughter.
