Veteran Pronounced Dead after Auto Collision on 605 Freeway

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 28, 2022) – Late Sunday night, Alexis Gonzales was killed in an auto accident on Firestone Boulevard.

Around 11:50 p.m., officers responded to the scene on Firestone Boulevard, near the 605 on-ramp.

At this time, the events leading up to the collision remain unclear. However, reports indicate that medics pronounced Gonzales dead at the scene.

Alexis Gonzales was a veteran of the South Gate Police Department, and will be deeply missed by their community.

Crews closed the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Although, it was later reopened. Once available, further details will be provided about the auto accident on Firestone Boulevard.
