Man Pronounced Dead after Multi-Vehicle Accident near Beach Boulevard

BUENA PARK, CA (April 3, 2023) – Monday night, Alex Shilvock was hurt and a man was killed in a multi-car collision on 5 Freeway.

The incident happened just before 11:00 p.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway just south of Beach Boulevard on March 27th.

Per reports, Shilvock was driving a white Toyota Matrix when he rear-ended a black Honda. Shilvock, his passenger, and the other driver were standing outside of their vehicles exchanging information when another driver struck all three victims, sending them into the roadway.

Medical personnel arrived and transported Shilvock and the other driver to UCI Medical Center with serious injuries. Meanwhile, crews pronounced a male passenger from San Diego dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released his identity.

Officers say Alex Shilvock remains in the hospital with a punctured lung. Following preliminary duties, it was unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a factor. However, an active investigation is still currently underway.
