Dayton Woman Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Accident Near Six Mile Canyon Road

LYON COUNTY, NV (May 15, 2023) – Thursday morning, 49-year-old Alena Persch lost her life after a pedestrian crash on US 50. The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. along US 50 near Six Mile Canyon Road. According to the reports, for unknown reasons, the woman walked into the path of an incoming green Peterbilt semi-truck. The driver did not stop on time and struck the pedestrian. Responding paramedics arrived and declared the woman, Alena Persch 49, of Dayton dead on the scene. At this time, officials have no further information about the possible factor of the fatal collision. Furthermore, the collision blocked all lanes on US 50 while police cleared the area, the freeway has now since reopened. Lyon County authorities will provide more information on the auto-pedestrian collision once available.
