30-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Collision near McDowell Road

PHOENIX, AZ (August 15, 2022) – Early Wednesday morning, Alberta Lavetta Cons was killed in a pedestrian crash on 51st Avenue.

The incident happened around 5:40 a.m., near McDowell Road on August 10th.

According to reports, a pickup-truck was heading south on 51st Avenue when traffic slowed down due to a disabled vehicle. In attempt to avoid a collision, the pickup-truck driver swerved left and struck another northbound pickup-truck.

Upon impact, the pickup-truck veered right and struck a female pedestrian who was standing near the disabled vehicle. Medics arrived and pronounced 30-year-old Cons dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, both of the pickup-truck drivers remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

In addition, no other injuries were reported. At this time, an active investigation to determine further details is still currently underway.
