Shadowland Ranch is a hidden gem in the Los Angeles National Forest that's home to a pack of 10 Alaskan timber wolves. Husband-and-wife team Paul Pondella and Colette Duvall Pondella started a foundation there to support the rescue of wolves and provide a sanctuary where people can learn about them. The couple provide educational programs for schoolchildren, team-building exercises for corporations and private visits by appointment. Recently they launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise the money they need to expand their campus and provide more educational resources and facilities for their foundation. The wolves mainly live indoors with the Pondellas, but the couple plan to build a 4,000-square-foot barn to allow for interaction with the wolves away from UV light, which is harmful to their eyes.
