33-Year-Old Woman Dies in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-80

VACAVILLE, CA (August 16, 2021) – A 33-year-old female driver lost her life Thursday morning after a suspected DUI crash on I-80.

The crash happened shortly before 5:00 a.m. August 12, Interstate 80.

According to reports, a 33-year-old Alameda woman was driving on Interstate 80 in a Toyota Camry when she drifted into the center median at the interchange.

The Toyota then swerved back into traffic and collided with a Hyundai Ioniq.

Moments later, a Honda Civic, a Volkswagen, and a GMC Sierra collided with the Toyota.

The impact of the wreck ejected the driver of the Toyota, who died at the scene.

Meanwhile, medics rushed the driver of the Volkswagen and Hyundai to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

In addition, the surrounding area was closed for cleanup and preliminary duties. Although, the roadway has since reopened.

Authorities consider drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the accident. An investigation is currently underway.
