Motorcyclist Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision near West Sahara Avenue

LAS VEGAS, NV (January 13, 2023) – Saturday night, Alain Smith and Gerisse Capulong were involved in a motorcycle crash on Rainbow Boulevard.

The accident took place on December 10th, at around 10:00 p.m. near West Sahara Avenue

According to reports, a 2015 Harley-Davidson Softail Breakout FXSB was traveling southbound on Rainbow Boulevard. There, it entered the left-hand turn lane and collided with the raised center median for unknown reasons. The impact of the crash ejected the motorcyclist onto the northbound lanes. While he was on the road, the motorcyclist was struck by a 2016 Nissan Rogue.

In attempts to avoid hitting the motorcyclist, the driver of the Rogue, 50-year-old Alain Smith, struck a 2014 Nissan Altima also traveling on Rainbow Boulevard.

First responders to the site of the collision pronounced the motorcyclist, a man from North Las Vegas, dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, both Smith and the Altima’s driver, Gerisse Capulong, 21, both of North Las Vegas, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Smith, Capulong, and Capulong’s two passengers, a 15-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy, did not sustain any injuries.
