3 Dead after Head-On Collision near Quebec Avenue

KINGS COUNTY, CA (September 23, 2022) – Sunday night, Airik Flores, Aleida Ayala, and Jose Molina Jr. died in a head-on crash on Highway 41.

Police responded to the scene around 7:00 p.m., near Quebec Avenue on September 11th.

According to reports, Flores was driving a 2018 Honda Accord south on Highway 41 when he entered the oncoming lanes and collided head-on with a northbound 2006 Honda Odyssey van.

The Accord and the Odyssey, driven by a woman and occupied by four children, went off the road into a ditch.

Officers arrived and pronounced 19-year-old Flores and 5-year-old Molina Jr., dead at the scene. The woman driving the Odyssey and the three other children were transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.

Medics later pronounced 8-year-old Ayala dead at the hospital.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further details is still currently underway.
