12-Year-Old Boy Struck in Pedestrian Accident on 19th Avenue

PHOENIX, AZ (February 27, 2023) – Friday night, a pedestrian collision on Wood Drive claimed the life of Aiden Begay.

The incident happened on February 17th, just before 7:00 p.m., near Wood Drive and 19th Avenue, just south of Thunderbird Road.

According to reports, Begay was crossing the street mid-block when a vehicle struck him. The impact of the collision left the victim with serious injuries.

First responders to the accident located Begay on the street with severe injuries. Medics transported him to a local hospital for treatment. However, despite life-saving efforts, officials pronounced 12-year-old Aiden Begay dead, due to the extent of his condition.

Following the collision, the driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and he showed no signs of impairment.
