Sen. Barbara Boxer might not like pot – she's against the initiative that would legalize marijuana in California – but one of her top aides allegedly does.

Marcus Stanley, a senior economic adviser, was arrested on suspicion of pot possession after U.S. Capitol Police alleged he tried to “remove and conceal” some of that leafy green stuff as he tried to enter the Hart building about noon Wednesday, according to Politico.

Stanley resigned and a Boxer spokesman said “his actions were wrong and unacceptable.”

Dude also worked on the Joint Economic Committee, dig?

It seems that the Capitol is green with envy these days, as at least a dozen people have been stopped for trying to bring weed or coke into the building in the past year and a half — a time period that includes added security measures.

Are we more secure knowing that one-less alleged pot smoker is helping make major decisions in the Capitol? Will Carly Fiorina use this episode in her campaign against Boxer? One thing's for (maybe) sure: If this happened in California, Stanley, if he indeed had the bud in-hand, might have been able to use a medical marijuana defense.
