Mastering the art of camera is not as easy as it seems, especially when it comes to creating a documentary. A documentary is one that uses artistic license to provide nonfictional content for the sake of instruction or amusement. Almost every nation has produced some kind of documentary, and they’ve all contributed to the growth of realism in cinema. Adrien Rappoport, a cameraman, journalist, and researcher who has photographic training and a degree in Journalism from the Toulouse School, has participated in internationally recognized documentaries for more than 15 years.
Achievements along the way
Adrien traveled to the United States eight years ago and shot extensive documentary images (Miami, the most rebellious city in America, The Disposable Children Scandal, Cannabis: The American Revolution…). Known for the quality of his exceptional images, a the height of men, sensitive and always at a safe distance, his technique is to adapt to situations, let the natural act, and above all, not to remake the plans to let the moments of truth pass. His work in the field of audiovisual production has set the bar very high. His ambitious undertakings have included the illegal races in Miami, the world according to Donald Trump, the Indo-Pacific Conflict, and the persecution of Caliph Al Baghdadi.
Instead of moving and working with a huge team, Adrien decided to work alone, always bringing along his camera equipment to catch the perfect shot. This is one of the things that sets him apart from other cinematographers, who usually operate with a large team of individuals. Throughout his career, he has worked for major TV networks in Europe and the United States of America. He has interviewed many celebrities, including Richard Branson, Jamie Foxx, Jordi Mollà, and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez. He captures all of his videos from a marketing, public relations, and journalistic perspective and is integral to innovative branding campaigns.
Adrien founded Reconnection in 2016 with over ten years of experience as a videographer, producer, and director of photography, specializing in television, documentary, and commercial videos. Reconnection is a Miami-based, full-service video production company whose videos are shot from a journalistic point of view, showcasing brands, products, services, company profiles, and executives. Since its inception, the company has worked with companies across all industries to create captivating video projects– from high-profile luxury brands to food and beverage companies, real estate developers, automotive industry players, and everything in between. Adrien and his company work for three types of clients mainly; corporate, journalists, and portrait videos for school children. In the corporate world, Adrien has worked with brands like L’Oréal, Pernod Ricard, Hermes, Ameristar Group, Genesis Yachtlines, and Renault Nissan.
Recently, the production studio released a documentary on French citizens in Miami during Spring Break. The video, which airs on Channel M6 and is titled “Spring Break Miami n’en peut plus,” follows event promoters, dancers, artists, and a few actors around the entertainment capital. Reconnection Video and Adrien have been inspired to keep making compelling content due to the positive response they’ve had from the public since the documentary’s April premiere. Climate Change: Made in the USA?, Montecito: The Celebrity Spot, and the Asia Pacific: The New Negative Powder are just a few of the company’s other films that have received widespread acclaim.
Back in 2016, Reconnection Media released the 5 Missing Migrant Project, which shed light on the most taboo topic of migrants going missing along the U.S.-Mexico border. In light of reports of migrants’ deaths and disappearances along this route, the Missing Migrant Project was initiated. Next up is a plan to address the perilous roadways in Florida, a state capital that has become notorious for its terrible road conditions and often places at the bottom of safety rankings.
Throughout his career, Adrien always focused on his actions and what the consequences could be. In his opinion, the purpose of bringing attention to these concerns is only the purpose of bringing to light something that is often disregarded and almost never discussed. And having worked on incredibly successful documentary projects over his 15 years of experience in the business, he has the skill set and the expertise necessary to bring a singular aesthetic vision to fruition.
