Hit-and-Run Crash on Locust Avenue Left One Dead, Woman Arrested

VICTORVILLE, CA (February 8, 2022) – On Wednesday, a DUI pedestrian crash claimed the life of Adriana Verdugo.

According to Victorville police, the crash occurred at 2:04 a.m. at the intersection of Mariposa Road and Locust Avenue.

Furthermore, police said Felicia Rodriguez quickly left the scene after she struck Verdugo in the northbound lanes of Mariposa Road.

Medical responders arrived and pronounced Verdugo dead at the scene.

Moreover, about 3 hours after the crash, Rodriguez turned herself in at the Victorville Police Station.

Consequently, she has been charged with Felony hit-and-run causing death, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and suspicion of driving under the influence causing death.

Meanwhile, all northbound and southbound lanes of Mariposa Road remained closed for several hours until 11:00 a.m. as authorities conducted their investigation and cleanup duties.
