66-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident near Colusa Casino Resort

COLUSA, CA (October 10, 2022) – Thursday night, police arrested Adres Melchor after a fatal hit-and-run on State Route 45.

The collision happened around 8:11 p.m., on September 29th near Colusa Casino Resort.

According to police, a 66-year-old woman was walking in the southbound lanes near Colusa Casino Resort. There, 55-year-old Melchor was driving a southbound vehicle and struck the pedestrian.

Upon impact, Melchor immediately fled the scene without rendering aid to the severely injured victim. Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.

Following preliminary duties, deputies later located Melchor and arrested him. He was booked into jail with charges of hit-and-run resulting in injury or death.

At this time, it is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. Further events leading up to the deadly accident are still under active investigation.
