39-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Accident on Interstate 40

WINSLOW, AZ (April 7, 2022) – Tuesday morning, 39-year-old Adam Michael Tackett of Farmington, was killed in a crash on Interstate 40.

The deadly collision happened around 7:30 a.m., on the westbound lanes of Interstate 40. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

According to officers, Tackett was standing in the middle of Interstate 40 for reasons unknown. There, the driver of a passing vehicle struck him.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, emergency crews declared Tackett dead at the scene.

Additionally, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, an active investigation is still ongoing to determine further information.
