27-Year-Old Man Died in a Single-Vehicle Crash near South Union Avenue

BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 10, 2022) – Thursday night, Adam Andrew Llamas was killed in a DUI crash on Highway 54.

The crash happened on August 4th, just before 10:30 p.m., near the intersection South Union Avenue and East Brundage Lane.

Investigators say, Llamas was heading southbound when he lost control of his vehicle. The car drove off the Union Avenue on-ramp to the 54 Freeway. It then rolled down an embankment and into the center median of the westbound lanes near the union avenue overpass.

According to emergency responders, Llamas suffered major injuries and was transported to Kern Medical where he later died.

Meanwhile, alcohol appears to be the cause of the crash. Anyone with information about the crash are encouraged to contact Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111. Further investigations are still ongoing.
