Brentwood physician Christopher Thomas Thompson pleaded not guilty at his arraignment today, according to an L.A. Times court blog by Joanna Lin. Thompson is accused of deliberately slamming on his car brakes on Mandeville Canyon Road last Independence Day, causing two bicyclists behind him to crash into the vehicle. The cyclists were critically injured in the incident, which gained statewide notoriety. After the accident, Thompson reportedly complained to investigating police officers that he was tired of cyclists riding on the neighborhood's residential streets. The doctor, who is charged with several felonies, gave his plea in the Airport Branch Courthouse.
