Two Drivers Dead after Rollover Crash near South Carpenter Road

MODESTO, CA (March 3, 2022) – Monday morning, Abraham Farias and Armando Garcia were killed in a fiery collision on West Main Avenue.

Around 5:43 a.m., authorities located two vehicles with major damage just west of Carpenter Road.

Per reports, Farias was driving a 2016 Subaru SUV west on Main Avenue. For unclear reasons, he veered into eastbound traffic and struck a 2006 Honda sedan head-on.

Upon impact, the Subaru rolled over and became engulfed in flames.

Authorities say 45-year-old Garcia, from Patterson was driving the Honda. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced both Garcia and 36-year-old Farias dead at the scene.

First responders located two vehicles with major damage. Investigators say the drivers were the only occupants in both vehicles. Moreover, they were both wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

It has not yet been determined if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Although, the accident is still under active investigation as of this time.
