3 Pronounced Dead after Fiery Auto Collision near Loop 101

PHOENIX, AZ (March 3, 2023) – Late Thursday night, Abelino Diaz, Octaviano Giron and 1 other person died in a fiery crash on 19th Avenue.

The incident occurred around 11:00 p.m., just north of Loop 101 on February 23rd.

According to reports, 18-year-old Diaz was driving a vehicle south in the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a northbound vehicle. In addition, a third vehicle became involved.

Upon impact, one of the involved vehicles caught fire. Medics arrived and transported Diaz and his passenger, 38-year-old Giron to a nearby hospital where they later died.

Moreover, another unidentified occupant in the third vehicle succumbed to their injuries. However, the driver and another passenger remained uninjured.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
