Juvenile Killed in Deadly Traffic Accident on Gowan Road

LAS VEGAS, NV (March 15, 2022) – Authorities arrested Abel Baires-Lorenzana following a fatal DUI crash on Walnut Road, Tuesday night.

Around 11:50 p.m., police responded to reports of a driver that crashed his vehicle into other parked cars on Gowan Road.

Crews discovered that the driver of a gold 2003 Toyota Carolla was heading east on Gowan near Rochester Avenue. Then, the vehicle veered right and struck a parked Hyundai Santa Fe.

Amidst the chaos, the Toyota slammed into another parked 1998 Honda Civic before crashing into a home fence. Upon impact, the driver and two passengers from the Toyota escaped from the scene.

Meanwhile, paramedics arrived and located a juvenile passenger who died at the scene.

Officers located the driver and identified 19-year-old Lorenzana who showed signs of impairment. Eventually, the police charged him for DUI resulting in death and failure to stop at the scene of an accident.

As of this time, officials held Lorenzana with no bail. An active investigation into the crash remains underway.
