Ricardo Meza Injured in Two-Car Accident near Adonis Drive

PALM DESERT, CA (January 13, 2023) – Wednesday, a car crash on Fred Waring Drive killed Abel Alvarado, Yolanda Alvarado, and Elena Morron.

The incident happened around 7:15 p.m. near the intersection of Fred Waring Drive and Adonis Drive, west of Monterey Avenue.

According to reports, Ricardo Meza, driving a 2021 Honda Accord, was traveling at high speeds when he collided with a 2015 Nissan Sentra. The impact of the collision caused the occupants of the Sentra- Morron, Abel Alvarado, and Yolanda Alvarado- to become trapped in the vehicle.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the site of the collision shortly after. Medics transported 24-year-old Ricardo Meza, of Palm Desert, to a local hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, officials pronounced 84-year-old Elena Morron, of Los Angeles; 69-year-old Abel Alvarado, of Anza; and 65-year-old Yolanda Alvarado, of Anza, dead at the scene.
