2 Dead, 3 Hurt in Fatal Car Accident on South Street
LAKEWOOD, CA (June 8, 2021) – Aaron Morgan and John Guzzardo died and three others were injured Friday night in a collision on South Street.
The accident occurred in the 6100 block of South Street, near Gondar Avenue. Officers arrived to the scene around 10:00 p.m.
According to reports, three cars were involved. However, officials are unsure of what led to the accident.
Paramedics found one victim critically injured, and another with moderate injuries. A third passenger was found with minor injuries. All three were rushed to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, 49-year-old Aaron Morgan of Lakewood, and Guzzardo were both later pronounced dead.
The lane was closed for a brief time during cleanup and an extensive investigation. But, the road has since reopened to traffic.
At this time, an active investigation continues. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
