Hit-and-Run Collision Kills Aaron Maldonado in West Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ (August 20, 2021) – Phoenix police arrest one man under suspicion of a hit-and-run that killed Aaron Maldonado, a father of four.

The fatal incident occurred around 10 a.m. at the intersection of 71st Avenue and Thomas Road.

According to investigators, Aaron Maldonado was returning home from work in a pickup truck when he was struck by a Chevy Tahoe.

As a result, the Chevy Tahoe quickly fled the scene before Phoenix PD could arrive.

Unfortunately, Aaron Maldonado later died in the hospital due to his injuries .

However, Police later identified and arrested the suspected driver, Jovanny Bencomo, after they located the Tahoe.

Phoenix Officials will release more information as it becomes available.
