22-Year-Old Man Killed in Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Collision near U Street

BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 22, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, Aaron Floyd Franklin was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident on Brundage Lane.

Authorities responded to the scene around 2:20 a.m., in the 400 block of Brundage Lane near U Street on May 7th.

Per reports, Franklin was crossing the road in a north direction outside of a marked crosswalk. There, the driver of an eastbound vehicle struck him.

Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the severely injured victim. Despite life-saving efforts, medics later pronounced 22-year-old Franklin, of Bakersfield dead at the scene.

Following preliminary duties, it is still unknown if drugs or alcohol were contributing factors, but an active investigation is currently ongoing. Bakersfield authorities urge anyone with information about the suspect driver to contact CHP hotline as soon as possible.
