Mystery writer Naomi Hirahara gives a talk as part of the citywide “Night and the City: L.A. Noir in Poetry, Fiction and Film” series. With torchy songs by father-daughter duo Doc & Renee (pictured), which should be a hoot — Renee's been a singer with several artier rock outfits and her pop is an acclaimed veteran singer, arranger and saxman who plays with his swing band Doc Anello and the Swing Machine at Disneyland.
