On June 15, LA Beer Week launched its 11th annual exposition of brews with a kickoff event at Los Angeles Center Studios. As soon as the gates opened at noon, hundreds of thirsty and momentarily sober guests checked in and then flooded the closed-off area surrounding the intersection of Boylston and Fifth Streets.

The scene instantly became a blur of extended beer-sampling glasses, pretzel necklaces and smiling faces as beer connoisseurs and tourists indulged their palates by sampling brews of the nearly 100 independently crafted beers, from members of the Los Angeles County Brewers Guild and beyond.

In between guzzlings, guests enjoyed live music, games, and the various grub provided by food trucks and vendors. To see what else is brewing during beer week, visit the LA Beer Week site. All photos by Scott Feinblatt
