To celebrate the launch of a new scary scoop, Baskin-Robbins is offering Angelenos the chance to be one of 31 people to win free ice cream for a year at the Scream Booth Burbank pop-up event, located at 1201 S Victory Boulevard, Saturday, Oct. 1 from 2 – 7 p.m. The first 31 people who put their taste buds to the test and record their first bites of Spicy ’n Spooky Ice Cream will score free ice cream for a year. Not one of the first 31? They’ll be giving out free scoops of Spicy ‘n Spooky, featuring real ghost pepper, while supplies last.

In honor of National Taco Day on Taco Tuesday, Trejo’s Tacos Santa Monica and Downtown Santa Monica will host a Taco Crawl with local Santa Monica restaurants on October 4th starting at 4 p.m. Taco lovers can head to Trejo’s Tacos to meet Danny Trejo, grab a Taco Crawl punch card, and get free tacos at seven Santa Monica restaurants. The punch cards will grant a free item with purchase at each participating restaurant. For those who finish the entire crawl, the completed punch card can be used at one of the participating locations to receive the same promotion between October 5th – October 12th.

Participating restaurants include Trejo’s Tacos Santa Monica, Tocaya Modern Mexican Santa Monica, Lanea, Socalo, Cabo Cantina Santa Monica, Jameson’s Pub, and Blue Plate Taco where a DJ will be spinning oceanfront tunes during sunset. 

On National Sake Day, Moto Ramen will be hosting a sake tasting night with sake purveyor Kerry Tamura of World Sake Imports on Saturday, October 1 from 6-8pm. Tamura will be pouring and discussing Moto Ramen’s new sakes distributed by World Sake including a Ginjo sake named Oka (Cherry Bouquet), a Yamahai Daiginjo named Tedorigawa (Chrysanthemum Meadow), and a sparkling sake named Dewazakura (Festival of Stars). The sake tasting is for dine-in customers. No sign-up is required.

Food service Locale is rolling out an exclusive Langer’s Deli and COFAX breakfast burrito collaboration for one week only, from Friday, Sept. 30 through Tuesday, Oct. 6. It will feature Langer’s Deli award-winning pastrami within COFAX’s burritos, made of eggs, pepper jack cheese, pickled jalapenos, sliced white onions. Orders placed by Oct. 5 will arrive on Oct. 7 in LA and nationwide. Bay area orders will arrive on Oct. 8. 

Benny Boy Brewing and RE:Her will be holding a OktobHERfest Women in Beverages Panel on Sunday, October 9, 5-6 p.m. at the brew house. The special edition of Benny Boy Brewing’s quarterly Female Founders Night networking event will feature RE:Her Founder and Love & Salt Owner Sylvie Gabriele, along with RE:Her members Kimberly Rice, head brewer, Sage Plant Based Bistro & Brewery; Corissa Hernandez-Paredes, co-founder, Xelas; and Roni Ginach, and sommelier and founder Roni Selects for a discussion about entrepreneurship and building a food and beverage brand in Los Angeles. Moderating the panel will be Benny Boy Brewing Co-Founder Chelsey Rosetter. Tickets required; price includes one welcome beverage. Open to all 21+; valet parking available. Santa Anita Park is kicking off the racing season with Smorgasburg LA’s first annual Noodle Fest and Stagecoach & Compton Cowboys Infield Takeover, on Saturday, Oct. 1 with exhibitions, live music and food trucks. They are also featuring a Rosé tasting dinner in their Chandelier room as well as all new menus at Silks and Frontrunner restaurants. Vendors include Lobsterdamus, Starry Kitchen, Estrano, Zef Hawaiian BBQ, Rad Na Silom, Evil Cooks, Picnic Sandwich

Eataly Los Angeles is holding a massive 5th BIRTHDAY BASH with food, drinks, and entertainment on the entire second and third floors of the Italian marketplace. Along with vendors throughout the event, the night will also showcase tasting stations featuring Eataly’s signature dishes, regional Italian wines to taste throughout the marketplace, local and regional Italian beverages, in-person chef demonstrations of classic Italian fare and a DJ.
