This is a true Halloween treat: The ghost of Conan O'Brien's late-night show is beating Jay Leno's Tonight Show numbers. Talk about being beaten by a dead horse.

The Wrap reports that O'Brien's short time in NBC's 11:30 p.m. slot in summer, 2009 put up better numbers (a 1.3 share) in the Hollywood-conquering 18-49 demographic than Leno's own audience ratings (a 1) for this past summer.

All this is happening, of course, as the ginger-headed competition prepares to go indie on Nov. 8 with his own TBS late night show, Conan.

Oh, and more spooky news for Leno: That gap-toothed guy based in New York, David Letterman, is gaining on him, too.

Boo!
