A lot of food can be had in Los Angeles for three dollars. Very little of it, however, can be eaten at a swanky restaurant on the 21st floor of a downtown office tower overlooking the city. But at least until Saturday you can enjoy both atmosphere and affordability while Takami celebrates its 3rd anniversary with a select menu of three dollar food, beer, wine, and cocktails.

They're not holding out on the portion sizes either, says Takami GM Leonard Matsumoto. “All the sushi rolls will be the same. The robata is a full skewer, the dessert is the same portion, [sushi] trio is the same. There's really not anything we're taking away from it. It's a three year anniversary, so we're just trying to give back.”

Reservations are suggested, as the restaurant expects to become gradually busier as the week progresses. The three dollar menu, which ends August 21st, includes some sushi rolls, Japanese tacos, and robata flank steak, as well as Argentinian wines, bottled beers, and cocktails.
