For more than two decades, a tight-knit community of vendors, suppliers and executives have come together to help raise money for the five Children ́s Miracle Network Hospitals in the Los Angeles region – with over $23 million dollars raised in the past twenty four years at the Costco Charity Classic.
This year, the highly anticipated event once again provided a unique opportunity for friends and peers to take part in a day of excitement and amicable competition, surrounded by the breathtaking vistas at Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club and Tijeras Creek Golf Club, where players and guests also enjoyed a social hour and participated in a silent auction.
The atmosphere was jovial as the players made their way across the course, pausing to experience lively hospitality spaces and gourmet tastings.
For breakfast, players were seen lining up next to the Certified Angus Beef® hospitality where they enjoyed their choice of breakfast burritos with Certified Angus Beef® Ribeye, eggs and bacon in flour tortillas, with salsa roja, bell peppers, yellow onion, potato, refried beans and a blend of shredded cheddar and jack cheeses or delicious Tri Tip sandwiches comprised of steakhouse tri tip, on ciabatta buns with caramelized onion and horseradish cream sauce.
As the day progressed, the players showcased their skills with some noteworthy drives and putts, while also sharing stories and laughs. Participants discussed amongst themselves the noteworthy role that the Costco Charity Classic has played in bringing people together to lend a helping hand to hospitals like the Children ́s Hospital of Orange County, Cottage Children ́s Medical Center, Kapi ́olani Medical Center for Women & Children, Lauren Small Children ́s Center and Children ́s Hospital Los Angeles.
The tournament, which hosts nearly 600 players from among Costco Wholesale ́s executive leadership and vendor community has successfully raised tens of millions of dollars for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, which is an international non-profit organization dedicated to helping children by raising funds and awareness for children’s hospitals throughout North America. Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals treat all children regardless of the family’s financial situation or their ability to pay for services.
The spirits remained high throughout the whole day, with players enjoying picture-perfect weather and toasting with a selection of bubbly beverages by 1849 Wine Company, which included its brand new & irresistible Brut & Rosé French sparkling wines, as well as refreshing bellinis and mimosas.
The nouvelle, award-winning brand is known for its painstaking approach to wine making; Drawing inspiration from the art world ́s unquestionable power to disrupt the norms and change perspectives.
One of its more recent and celebrated offerings, the Rosé sparkling wine, caused a major impression at the event thanks to its highly enticing blend of red raspberry, cherry and black currant flavors; With guests enjoying the crisp, refreshing taste of this delightfully pink-colored beverage that finds its origins in the French “méthode traditionnelle” style of wine making.
Come lunch time, hungry golfers rushed to the eye-capturing Meat District hospitality area looking to re-fuel and continue enjoying the day ́s activities.
Meat District, which offers butcher-crafted, premium burgers and tri-tip, spoiled guests with an irresistible offering of smash burgers (double stacked burgers, potato bun, caramelized onions, American cheese, ketchup, thousand island and mustard) along with scrumptious steak fries. The brand, which can be found at Costco Wholesale, has quickly become a consumer favorite thanks to its eye- catching packaging, superior flavor and uncompromising quality products which undoubtedly captured the tastebuds of attendees.
As the day came to an end, the players, guests and organizers celebrated the success of yet another Costco Charity Classic by participating in a silent auction which prompted invitees to bid on a selection of prized items, furthering the event ́s charitable contribution and bringing the experience to a memorable close.
Events such as this are instrumental in facilitating the participation and contribution of community-conscious individuals and companies to further the ability that organizations such as the Children ́s Miracle Network Hospitals have of effecting a positive impact in our society.
