Condoms have prevented countless people from getting STDs and unplanned pregnancies. However, many still don’t like using it — after all, it can be uncomfy for many, especially for men. But there’s a new type of condom — it’s a condom that feels better than bareback, according to those who already tried the CSD500 condom.

How is it possible that there’s a condom that feels better than bareback?

Ohio State University researchers partnered with health experts from Vietnam to design a condom that feels better than bareback. Their report, which was published in The Journal of Sex Research, says that the condom design has “erectogenic” properties. The reason for this is that the tip of the condom has a small dose of glyceryl trinitrate gel — which is known to increase blood flow on the penis.

In their study, around 500 couples were recruited to see how CSD500 will affect their sex life. Interestingly, those who used CSD500 said that it’s easier to put on and it feels “natural” to them. What’s surprising is that 16% of those who used CSD500 said they prefer it over bareback sex.

Currently, CSD500 is available in some European countries, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. But the study was conducted in Vietnam as the scientists claim that there’s a “social stigma” surrounding birth control pills

According to study author Maria Gallo, “Married women account for about one-third of HIV cases in Vietnam, and most were exposed to the virus through sexual activity with their husbands. Worldwide, more than 80% of HIV cases in women result from sexual exposure to husbands or primary partners,”

“In a marriage or a long-term relationship, asking for condom use might feel like you are suggesting that the person is having sex with other partners or that the person has HIV or another sexually transmitted infection,” they added.

Is it still cool to wear a condom?

Until CSD500 becomes available in the United States, we’ll just have to stick to the regular ones available to us. However, there are still those who refuse or forget to regularly wear a condom. According to a study that was published in the Sexually Transmitted Infections journal, only 33% of couples who are in a casual relationship use a condom; only 14% of couples in a committed relationship wear a condom when having sex.

Others refuse to wear a condom simply because they get too caught up in the heat of the moment, others find that it lessens the sensation or pleasure compared to bareback sex, some think it’s too expensive and some are allergic to the material the condom is made out of.

Without condoms, the risk of getting an STD will always be present — especially if you engage in casual sex. Even if it’s just one partner, your FWB may be having sex with others. Pregnancy is also another risk you should be willing to take if you don’t use a condom. Unless you actually plan on getting pregnant.

Well,

We can anticipate having a condom that feels better than bareback soon! After all, it’s already available in Europe and the Middle East! Not only will it significantly prevent people from catching sexually-transmitted diseases and unplanned pregnancies, but it can also improve the whole sexual ordeal!
