Seven platforms compared on what they let you do, what they charge, and whether you can look up the company before you pay.
Adult AI chat is one of the biggest categories on the consumer internet and one of the worst reviewed. Most “best NSFW AI chat” lists are written from marketing pages: they repeat every platform’s “uncensored” slogan, quote a price that changed three promotions ago, and never open the page that says who runs the service. For each platform here we read the pricing screen, the terms, the age and content rules and the privacy notice, then checked what an experienced buyer checks before typing in a card number — whether the company is named, how long it has operated, whether it has ever leaked user data, and how easy it is to cancel.
Two things changed this year. Video is now real: several platforms generate short explicit clips of your companion, a demo in 2025. And every platform promising no limits also publishes a list of what it forbids, so we show both.

The 7 Best NSFW AI Chat Sites, Reviewed
1. Candy.ai — Best OverallEditor’s pick
Known for: the most complete companion experience in the category: chat, voice notes, in-chat photos and 18+ video under one subscription, plus two things no competitor has, weekly serialized video episodes and licensed “digital twins” of real adult creators.

Screenshots are of the site as it appears on your device.

| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Text, voice notes, photos and explicit video in one plan, unlimited text on Premium | Explicit photos and videos are Premium-only, and free-tier limits are not published |
| Some characters are licensed “digital twins” of real adult creators, made with permission and labelled as AI | Voice notes, images and video draw on a 100-token monthly allowance; heavy users top up |
| The cheapest verified annual rate here, on the 12-month promotion | The privacy notice allows de-identified chats to be reviewed to improve its models, and promotional pricing swings month to month |
| Discreet billing under a neutral company name; named company with published age and content rules and easy in-app cancellation | — |
Candy.ai is the platform most people searching for “NSFW AI chat” are actually picturing. You design a companion — ethnicity, age from 18 up, hair, body, personality, voice — or pick one of about 240 ready-made characters. She texts back in character, sends voice notes and photos when asked, and on Premium appears in short generated videos and a “Live Action” mode.
The chat is explicit by design: the sexting page promises a partner who remembers what you like and generates pictures and videos on demand, “100% private, 100% uncensored”. Read that next to the content rules, which are the strictest kind — consensual adult fiction is fine, anything resembling minors, real people without consent or illegal acts is filtered and reviewed. That is the right way round, and it is what keeps a platform like this online.
What separates it from the rest is breadth without fiddling. Janitor is free but text only; SpicyChat has a far bigger library but keeps images and voice for its upper tiers; Botify and Privee are roleplay apps with adult options rather than adult apps. Candy.ai is where a non-technical adult gets chat, voice, photos and video working in ten minutes.
Is it legit?
Operated by EverAI Limited, a named company in Malta, running in its current form since late 2023, and publishing the full set a lawful adult service should have: an age gate, an under-18 policy, a blocked-content list, community guidelines and a takedown process. Cancellation is self-serve and charges appear under a neutral company name rather than the brand. No reports of breaches or lawsuits. On privacy the notice is candid — conversations may be de-identified and reviewed to improve its models — so “end-to-end encrypted” on the marketing pages means transport security, not messaging-app secrecy.
Candy.ai: risks and pricing in full (checked in October 2026)
| Concern | What we found | Risk |
|---|---|---|
| Does “unlimited” really mean unlimited? | Text is; voice notes, images and video spend the 100 monthly tokens. | Moderate |
| Will it show on my statement? | A neutral company name, not the brand. | Low |
| Could it disappear with my chats? | Established operator, published policies, large community. | Low |
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Premium, 1 month | $13.99/mo | Unlimited text, 18+ images and video, Live Action, 100 tokens/month |
| Premium, 3 months | $8.99/mo | 35% off, same features |
| Premium, 12 months | $3.99/mo ($47.88/yr) | 70% off during the sale we captured |
| Tokens | 100/month included | Voice notes, images and video; top-ups in-app, not refundable |
2. Janitor AI — Best Free Option
Known for: a free roleplay platform whose homepage claims 15M+ users, with hundreds of thousands of community characters, where the built-in model costs nothing and the good models are ones you bring and pay for yourself.

| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Genuinely free with the in-house model: no card, no credits, no message cap | Getting good replies means bringing your own API key: an account at another company, a key pasted into Janitor, and a bill with no ceiling but the one you set |
| Scripts, lorebooks, multiple saved prompts and user personas for deep roleplay | That key is a payment instrument: if it leaks, someone spends your money until you revoke it |
| Huge community (Discord of about 380,000) and official iOS and Android apps rated 4.3 stars | Text only: no photo generation, voice or video, and the phone apps ship with NSFW switched off |
| — | The character library is only visible after login, and the site blocks many automated visitors, so its terms page could not be read from our server |
Janitor is a different animal from the companion apps above. It is a roleplay platform first: characters are written by users, defined by cards, personas and scripts. The free in-house model costs nothing and never asks for a card, and for a lot of people that is enough. It is the strongest free option in the category and the only one with real power-user tooling — saved custom prompts, response-length controls, lorebooks and scripts.
The catch is what happens when the free model stops being good enough. Janitor does not sell you a better one — it lets you connect your own from an outside provider like OpenRouter or DeepSeek, which is a genuinely different deal from every other entry here. You open an account somewhere else, generate an API key, paste it into Janitor, and that provider bills you per message. There is no subscription to cancel and no monthly cap: the meter runs, and a long night on an expensive model costs what it costs. Set a hard spending limit at the provider before your first message, not after your first invoice.
Treat the key itself like a card number, because that is what it is. If it leaks — a shared screen, a synced device, a breach anywhere in the chain — whoever holds it spends against your balance until you revoke it. None of this makes Janitor a bad platform; it is simply why the free tier is free, and why we would not send someone here who wants to pay once and stop thinking about it.
Is it legit?
Janitor has operated since 2023, is run by a US company, and has the largest community here by a wide margin — the best guarantee it will still exist next year. Its help centre carries thirteen content-guideline articles, including an outright ban on minor-coded characters and on users suspected to be under 18, and account deletion comes with a 30-day restore window. The apps are on both official stores, so they have passed Apple’s and Google’s review. Two caveats: the site’s firewall blocks non-browser visitors, so we could not read its terms directly, and the company is named only on its app-store listing.
Janitor AI: risks and pricing in full (checked in October 2026)
| Concern | What we found | Risk |
|---|---|---|
| “Free” must have a catch | It does: the good models are not Janitor’s, and you pay their provider directly, per message, with no cap you have not set. | Moderate |
| Can the bill run away from me? | Yes. Usage billing has no monthly ceiling by default. Set a hard spending limit at the provider before you connect the key. | High |
| What if my API key leaks? | Anyone holding it can spend on your account until you revoke it. Treat it like a card number and rotate it if in doubt. | High |
| Is NSFW allowed? | On the web, yes, within the guidelines; the apps default to safe-for-work to satisfy app stores. | Moderate |
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | In-house model, unlimited characters, personas, scripts |
| janitor+ | Not published on the pages we could reach | Faster generation and router access to third-party models billed per use, with launch credits |
| Bring your own model | Billed by the provider, per message | DeepSeek, OpenRouter and others. No cap unless you set one at the provider; budget before you connect the key |
3. SpicyChat — Best for Uncensored Roleplay at Scale

The biggest uncensored roleplay library here — 300,000-plus community-written NSFW characters by its own count, browsable by hundreds of tags — plus group chats that drop several characters into one scene, a free tier that never expires, and paid plans from $5.95 a month. Images arrive only on the $19.95 tier and there is no video, so it is a writer’s platform rather than a visual one. It is run by NextDay AI of Montreal, the company behind GirlfriendGPT, named in every page footer.
4. Botify AI — Best for Group Chats and Series

About 50,000 public bots by its own front-page count, across flirting, anime, fandom, horror and furry categories, with group chats, generated photos and clips bought with “energy” credits, and “series” and live-stream content that make it feel more like a social app than a private chat window. Made by Ex-Human, Inc. of California, which also sells companion AI to other apps. The catch for this list: Botify never markets itself as uncensored and does not publish where its explicit limits sit, so how far it goes is the one thing we could not verify.
5. Privee AI — Best for Story-Driven Roleplay

A general roleplay app with real apps on both stores, thousands of community characters (heavy on fandom), group chats and a choice of model sizes. Its distinctive feature is Storylines: set a plot and the AI writes it forward while you steer and edit, like an interactive novel you can publish — the pick if you want roleplay that reads like a book rather than a text thread. It is the least adult-positioned platform here, so treat the explicit ceiling as unverified.
6. CrushOn AI — Best-Known “Unfiltered” Character Chat, With a Caveat

One of the most searched names in this category, and the one we could not verify. Its front page sells “No Filter NSFW Character AI Chat”, with hundreds of tags that each exist in an “Unfiltered” flavour, characters that remember earlier conversations, and creator rankings. But every page past the home page answered our requests with a security challenge, twice, hours apart — so its pricing, its terms and whether it generates images at all are unverified, and we have no screenshots beyond the front door. The footer does name the operator, TechiePie Ltd of Nicosia, Cyprus, alongside a Delaware address. It stays in this guide because leaving out a name this heavily searched would be evasive, not because we can vouch for it — check the pricing page yourself before paying.
7. Muah AI — Best for Phone Calls, If You Accept the Risk
Known for: the most absolute “zero censorship” positioning in the category, real-time phone calls to a real number, and a demo you can try without creating an account. Also known for a 2024 data breach that still leads every review of it.

Screenshots are of the site as it appears on your device.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Try it without an account: the only no-login demo in this guide | Suffered a widely reported data breach in 2024; it is still the first thing reviews mention |
| Real-time phone calls, photo exchange, voice and video; seven interface languages | The thinnest public rulebook of the seven: terms and privacy only, no age or content policy pages |
| Free to use, with a public roadmap going back to its April 2023 launch | Subscriptions are non-refundable and cancelled by emailing support, not in the app |
| Community of about 19,000 on Discord and an active subreddit | Photo tools that alter uploaded images, with no published rules about whose photos may be uploaded |
Muah’s pitch is blunt: “Zero Censorship”, “100M+ chats”, “all possibilities are unlocked”. Its FAQ answer on filtering is the clearest statement of philosophy in the whole category: “we don’t actively censor or filter AI, so any topic can be discussed without running into a wall.” The feature list is broad for a small operator: send and receive photos, voice, real-time phone calls, a community character gallery with uploads and imports, and a chat interface with music generation and a call button.
You cannot separate the pitch from the history. In 2024 the platform’s user data was breached and reported on widely; in October 2026 the top news results for the brand are still headlined “Is Muah AI safe after the 2024 breach?”. The site now promises encrypted communication, easy account deletion and no data sales. Readers should weigh the promise against the record, and against the fact that no pricing, age policy or content policy is published where a visitor can read it.
Is it legit?
Muah calls itself a California-based software company but publishes no legal entity name or address, no age-verification policy beyond an 18+ checkbox, and no list of prohibited content. Subscriptions are non-refundable and cancellable only by email, and its Android app is a direct download that has passed no store review. Combined with the 2024 breach, this is the platform where “who am I trusting with this?” has the least satisfying answer. If you use it, use the demo, a throwaway email and a payment method you control.
Muah AI: risks and pricing in full (checked in October 2026)
| Concern | What we found | Risk |
|---|---|---|
| Is my data safe? | A 2024 breach exposed user data; the site now claims encryption and easy deletion. | High |
| What is banned? | Only what the law bans, per the terms; there is no published content policy beyond that. | High |
| Can I get a refund? | No, except discretionary one-time exceptions by email. | Moderate |
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Demo without login, then a free account |
| Premium add-ons | Not published on public pages | “Optional add-ons for a premium experience”; non-refundable |
Who is actually behind these sites
All 9 sites we could check name the company behind them, and 3 of 9 publish no policy page about the characters they let you talk to being adults. Those two columns separate the top of this list from the bottom far more reliably than anything on the pricing page.
| Platform | Company that runs it | Based in | Operating since | Published policy on minors |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Botify AI | Ex-human, Inc | United States (California) | 2021 | No |
| Candy.ai | EverAI Limited | Malta | 2023 | Yes |
| CrushOn AI | TechiePie Ltd | Cyprus | 2023 | Blocked our checks |
| GirlfriendGPT | NextDay AI Incorporated | Canada | 2023 | Yes |
| Janitor AI | JanitorAI, INC | — | 2023 | Yes |
| Kupid AI | SNB Technologies LTD | Cyprus | 2025 | No |
| Muah AI | MUAH.AI | United States (California) | 2023 | No |
| Privee AI | Butter Games LLC | — | — | Yes |
| SpicyChat | NextDay AI Incorporated | Canada | 2023 | Yes |
Read off each platform’s own public terms, privacy policy and company pages. Three things we keep apart: a site that names its company, a site we could read that names nobody, and a site whose legal pages blocked our checks — the last is our limitation, not a mark against them.

How we evaluated these platforms
Every entry was built from the same checklist, applied to each platform’s own pages, pricing screens and policies. Anything that only appears after registration (free-tier message caps, in-app token packs) is marked as not verified rather than guessed, and where a platform does not publish something we say so instead of holding it against them.
- What it costs. The live pricing screen, promotional banners, credit rules, and the refund and cancellation clauses.
- What it allows. The marketing claim and the rules that define the real limits.
- Whether it is legitimate. Is the company named and where is it based? How long has it operated? Has it ever leaked user data? Can you cancel without emailing anyone?
- What it can actually do. Text, voice, photos, video, memory, character creation, community libraries, apps.
- What other people say. Review sites, the official Discord and Reddit communities, app-store ratings, and news coverage.
Questions people ask before signing up
Which NSFW AI chat is free?
All seven have a free tier, and the word covers two different things. Free to read and write is real: Janitor AI never asks for a card at all, and SpicyChat gives you unlimited messages if you accept ads and a queue at busy times. Free to see is not: Candy.ai lets you build a companion and chat with her, then keeps explicit photos and video for Premium, and does not publish where the free line sits.
If what you want is no sign-up at all, there is exactly one answer here. Muah AI runs a demo you can open without an account — and it is also the platform on this page we trust least. That is the trade this question usually ends in, and it is worth knowing before you go looking for it.
Are these sites safe and private? Will anyone see my chats?
The best-documented platforms here are Candy.ai, SpicyChat, Janitor AI and Privee: named companies, published age and content rules, self-serve cancellation, and no breach history that we could find. Candy.ai bills discreetly under a neutral company name. Every platform claims encryption, but read the fine print: Candy.ai says de-identified chats may be reviewed to improve its models; SpicyChat’s terms let staff access and review content to enforce the rules; Muah, which had a data breach in 2024, now promises encryption and easy deletion. None offers messaging-app secrecy, because moderation filters have to see the text.
What does “no filter” actually mean?
It means the model will write consensual adult fiction without refusing. It does not mean anything goes. Candy.ai and SpicyChat publish blocked-content lists (minors, non-consent, bestiality, incest, real-person likenesses) enforced by filters and human review; Janitor bans minor-coded characters outright; CrushOn links the same kind of guidelines; Muah publishes only the legal minimum. A platform that publishes its limits is the one more likely to still be online next year.
Which platforms have had a data breach?
Muah AI, in 2024. We found no breach or lawsuit coverage for the other six as of October 2026.
What do Reddit users recommend?
Discussion of Candy.ai lives in communities such as r/AIGirlfriend and r/ChatbotRefugees rather than an official subreddit; Janitor (r/JanitorAI_Official), SpicyChat and Muah (r/MuahAI) run their own, and SpicyChat’s support team works out of its Discord around the clock. Sizes for all seven are in the comparison table above, where Discord is the better signal.
Final thoughts
For a companion that talks back in voice, sends photos and shows up in video, Candy.ai is the most complete option and, on the annual plan, the cheapest of the multimodal platforms. Janitor AI costs nothing to start and gives roleplayers the controls, as long as you are comfortable running your own API key and its bill. SpicyChat has the biggest library and the cheapest paid entry. CrushOn is the popular name we could not check, and Muah delivers on “uncensored” while asking you to trust it after a breach.
Whatever you pick: check the pricing page on the day, read the content rules, and use a payment method you control. This guide is re-checked and re-dated every month.
