Mark StefanosTame Impala’s Kevin Park brought the curtain down on the U.S. portion of his Deadbeat Tour Monday night, Nov. 17, 2025, delivering a sold-out immersion at the Kia Forum that fused psychedelic grooves with arena-scale innovation. The three-show stand that also included shows on Nov. 11 and 12 last week, drew over 50,000 attendees across three evenings and served as a high-water mark for the run, blending tracks from the newly released Deadbeat with era-spanning staples in a display of Parker’s evolving sonic architecture.
A line of hundreds stretched around the perimeter streets of the Forum with the hopes of scoring last-chance tickets at the box office. Opening with “Apocalypse Dreams,” Parker’s expanded six-piece ensemble — featuring longtime collaborators like bassist Cameron Avery, guitarist Dominic Simper, and new addition James Ireland on keys — took the stage, a 360-degree platform in the arena’s center. This in-the-round configuration, a staple of the tour’s production, encircled the floor with unbroken sightlines.

With over 20 songs, the set struck a balance between the moody, dance-floor-ready cuts from the brand-new album Deadbeat (“Dracula,” “Loser,” “Gossip,” “The Moment”) and career-defining anthems. When the opening riff of “Elephant” hit, the floor erupted. When the bass line of “The Less I Know the Better” dropped in the encore, 17,500 voices drowned out the PA in a single, euphoric wave.
Versions of “Let It Happen,” “Borderline,” and “New Person, Same Old Mistakes” gave the night its hypnotic spine, while quieter moments like “Feels Like We Only Go Backwards” and an acoustic detour on the B-stage offered breathing room and intimacy inside the massive space. The B-stage was set up like a cozy living room, with lamps and rugs, for the stripped-back passages. It was there that he lay fully on his back for the second time in the show — straight vibing, dawg.

The production was stellar. The flawless sound was courtesy of an L-Acoustics K2 system configured in quad-stereo that surrounded the stage, preserving every panoramic swirl and low-end throb that defines Parker’s records. Even from the upper seats, the mix stayed clear, immersive and balanced. Fractal lasers, shifting color fields, and storms of confetti transformed the arena into a kaleidoscope with stunning visuals.
The crowd spanned generations: teenagers copping limited merch, thirty-somethings reliving their Currents summers, some in-the-know gray-haired couples. Tame Impala closed out the night, and the tour, with “End of Summer,” which was followed with a roar of applause and gratitude.

The U.S. leg of the Deadbeat Tour is over, but Tame Impala will return overseas in spring 2026. For the thousands who braved the downpour and traffic snarls, the equal parts intimate and enormous show was well worth it. It felt like the perfect goodbye, for now.
