Same Same But Different Festival returns to the shores of Lake Perris, Sept. 26–28, closing out summer with deep bass grooves, serene sunrise sets, and community-driven magic.

For its 2025 edition, SSBD is bringing together heavyweight bass headliners LSZee (LSDream & CloZee), Zeds Dead, and beloved house music icon Dr. Fresch, to keep energy high at the mainstage over the three-day weekend. They’ll be joined by more than 60 artists ranging from local fan favorites to global up-and-comers, including two stages curated by well-known SoCal event producers Good Society and Almost Nakey.

Beyond its reputation as a premier dance-music destination, this year’s SSBD also offers 50+ workshops and activities. Among the highlights: LSDREAM’s Lightcode, a meditative sound-bath experience the headliner will present in addition to his B2B mainstage set with CloZee as LSZEE the night before. Festival-goers can also explore hot-air balloon rides, yoga, and wellness activations, and even a stage on a literal island accessible only by boat.

Despite all the bells, boats and whistles, what excites us most about Same Same But Different is its loyalty to its independent roots. SSBD has grown into a fixture of the California festival circuit, yet has stayed true to its niche curation, its impact on the local scene, and its emphasis on cultivating community. In a landscape dominated by massive corporate productions, events like this are a reminder of the irresistible charm of independent festivals and the culture that keeps us coming back.
