Soon Kim, 91, Dies in Fatal Hit-and-Run on Ellendale Place near Adams Boulevard
LOS ANGELES, CA (August 5, 2021) – Soon Kim lost her life Monday morning when a hit-and-run driver struck her on Ellendale Place near USC.
The tragic accident happened around 7:00 a.m., August 2nd, on Ellendale Place and Adams Boulevard.
Surveillance video shows the female driver of a pickup-truck back up in an alley near USC. Meanwhile, Kim was on her morning walk when she was unable to avoid being struck by the vehicle.
The woman who was driving the vehicle got out of the car, and moved Kim’s body to the side of the road before fleeing away.
Officers arrived at the scene and discovered the victim lying on the ground. Medical personnel then took her to the hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Investigators say the pickup truck was transporting a large load of items which is most likely what obstructed her view. Following the collision, authorities shut down the intersection of Ellendale Place and Adams Boulevard.
The Los Angeles Police Department ask anyone with information to contact them at 323-421-2500. There is currently a reward of $50,000 for anyone who provides information leading to the suspects identification, and conviction.
