Today marks the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the United States.

Last year the LAPD was staffed at “full strength” as a precaution. This year Officer Cleon Joseph told us it wasn't clear what the department's plans were, though we'd expect much of the same.

In the meantime the L.A. Fire Department was hosting commemorative events, including, according to spokesman Brian Humphrey:

7:00 AM to 8:30 AM

LAFD Museum and Fallen Firefighter Memorial

1355 North Cahuenga Boulevard

Hollywood, CA 90028

10:00 AM to 11:00 AM

World Trade Center Memorial

LAFD Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center

1700 North Stadium Way

Los Angeles, CA 90012

6:30 PM

9/11 Memorial Fountain

LAFD Fire Station 88

5101 North Sepulveda Boulevard

Sherman Oaks, CA 91403

L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa was expected to attend the World Trade Center Memorial.
