Elderly Female Victim Pronounced Dead after Oxnard Accident

OXNARD, CA (November 12, 2021) – An 84-year-old woman was pronounced dead Sunday afternoon, after an auto collision on Holly Avenue.

Authorities arrived at the scene at 4:43 p.m., after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area. Officers then located a Toyota Tacoma and a Dodge Durango.

Upon investigating, police say the Dodge SUV was heading north on H Street when the westbound Toyota truck entered the intersection. There, the two vehicles collided with one another.

Authorities identified the SUV driver as a 40-year-old Oxnard man who sustained minor injuries. Meanwhile, the Toyota truck driver, an 84-year-old Oxnard woman, was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later succumbed to her injuries.

Investigators have ruled out drugs and/or alcohol as factor in the crash.
