Young Bicyclist Struck by Vehicle near Elementary School

REDDING, CA (November 18, 2021) – Tuesday morning, an 8-year-old girl was struck and injured in a bicycle collision on Mistletoe Lane.

Officers received dispatch calls around 7:48 a.m., regarding a vehicle vc bicycle accident in the area. Crews arrived to the scene near Mistletoe Elementary School, shortly after.

According to reports, the young girl was riding a bicycle against traffic on Mistletoe Lane. There, she was hit by a Dodge pickup-truck that was exiting the school parking lot.

Paramedics responded and transported the 8-year-old girl to Mercy Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

In addition, the Dodge was driven by a 47-year-old Redding woman.
