Traffic Accident near Town Center Avenue Left One Man Dead

PLACER COUNTY, CA (July 26, 2022) – On Friday, a DUI crash on Walerga Road killed one man and left another with minor injuries.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened while a white Corvette was heading south on Walerga Road, north of Town Center Avenue.

Furthermore, the investigators said the driver went across the center divide and into the northbound lanes.

As a result, the Corvette collided head-on with a Chevrolet Malibu heading northbound with a passenger.

The Corvette driver, identified only as a 68-year-old man, succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Their identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, the Chevy Malibu driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Later, the CHP officials said the driver of the Corvette was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.

Placer County officials continue to investigate the DUI crash.
