Young Girl Killed in Pedestrian Collision on North Geronimo Avenue

TUCSON, AZ  (December 14, 2021) – Saturday, a 6-year-old girl was fatally struck in a pedestrian crash on Fort Lowell Road.

Officers responded to the intersection of Fort Lowell Road and North Geronimo Avenue.

According to reports, the girl was attempting to cross Fort Lowell Road from north to south. After her and a family member made it to the center lane, the little girl continued running into the road.

There, the young girl was struck by a passing red Dodge pickup-truck. First responders located the 6-year-old girl laying in the middle of the road, unconscious upon arrival.

Paramedics transported the girl to a nearby hospital for treatment, where she was pronounced dead shortly after.

The pickup-truck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Following investigations, officers do not believe that impairment played a factor.

Further circumstances leading up to the crash on Fort Lowell Road are still under active investigation. In addition, there have been no tickets or charges issued.
