Child Struck by Car on E 87th Street Dies in Hospital

LOS ANGELES, CA (August 5, 2021) – A 6-year-old boy was struck and killed by a vehicle on East 87th Street in South Los Angeles on Monday morning.

The accident happened around noon in the Florence-Graham neighborhood, near East 87th Street and Firestone Boulevard.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the boy was rushed to the hospital where he later died. Authorities have not yet released his identity.

The crash’s circumstances were unknown. According to the CHP, the incident did not appear to be a hit-and-run.

Investigators encourage witnesses to cooperate and reach out as soon as possible. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.

At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
