One Elderly Woman Critical and 5 Others Hospitalized after Head-On Crash on SR 299

INGOT, CA (August 03, 2021) – At least six people sustained injuries Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle head-on collision on SR 299 in Ingot.

The accident happened around 10:53 a.m. on July 27 on Highway 299 near mile marker 43.

According to the California Highway Patrol, two cars of unknown specific model crashed head-on under unknown circumstances.

Firefighters and paramedics rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the head-on crash.

Emergency services successfully extricating the woman from her SUV, a CHP H-16 arrived on the scene and airlifted her to Mercy Hospital. Meanwhile, the woman’s four juvenile passengers were injured in the accident and were all hospitalized with minor to moderate injuries.

CalTrans later reported that both lanes had reopened to traffic at 12:45 p.m.

Authorities are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the crash, because of this more information will be released as it becomes available.
