Las Vegas Man Dead after Multi-Vehicle Crash near Lincoln Boulevard

SANTA MONICA, CA (August 19, 2021) – Saturday night on August 14, a 58-year-old man died after a multi-vehicle collision on the 10 Freeway.

The deadly crash took place around 5:46 p.m., on the 10 Freeway. Officers arrived just outside the McClure Tunnel at the Lincoln Boulevard overpass.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was driving a 2015 Land Rover at a high rate of speed. As a result, the driver crashed into a 2021 Tesla and 2009 Infiniti, causing the Infiniti to strike a 2016 Dodge.

After colliding with a 2019 Kia, the Land Rover flipped and struck a 2018 Jeep, which then collided with a Honda and a Toyota.

Due to the extent of his injuries, CHP declared the Las Vegas man dead at the scene. Meanwhile, a 29-year-old Santa Monica woman was taken to the hospital with minor injures.

The CHP investigation is still ongoing, and it was unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the multi-vehicle crash on 10 Freeway.
