5 Hurt in Auto Collision near Burbank Avenue in Santa Rosa

SANTA ROSA, CA (September 7, 2021) – Thursday night, five people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Sebastopol Road.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Sebastopol Road and Burbank Avenue around 8:20 p.m., on September 2.

According to police, a 16-year-old boy was driving a silver BMW sedan east on Sebastopol Road. He then collided with another car just east of Stony Point Road.

The teen then fled the scene and shortly after, collided with a westbound black GMC pickup truck turning southbound onto Burbank Avenue. The pickup rolled over as a result of the impact.

Medics rushed the driver of the BMW and his passengers, a 21-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl, to the hospital for treatment of major injuries.

Meanwhile, a male passenger in the pickup was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

At this time, authorities have not released any additional information; however, officials believe impairment was a factor in the collision.

More information will be released to the public when it is made available.

Driving under the influence is one of the most dangerous things you can do as a driver. If you find yourself unable to safely drive, you can always contact a Lyft or Uber instead.
