At Least 5 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Accident near 51st Street

SACRAMENTO, CA (June 18, 2021) – Five people sustained injuries Monday morning following a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 50 in Sacramento.

The accident happened around 7:30 a.m., on Highway 50 near 51st Street.

According to reports, the events leading up to the multi-vehicle crash are still unknown. However, the vehicles involved included an ambulance, a work truck, and a Budget rental box truck.

Investigators say the box truck overturned on westbound Highway 50 as a result of the impact. Upon arrival, paramedics took five people to hospitals with minor injuries.

Furthermore, CHP said the severity of the collision caused traffic and lane closures in the surrounding area. But, all lanes reopened shortly after 10:00 a.m.

At this time, authorities are conducting an active investigation. Once available more information will be released about the multi-vehicle crash on Highway 50.
