It's almost here: Our yearly Pancake Breakfast will take place this Sunday, Aug. 24, at the Park Plaza Hotel. And lucky you — there's still time to get tickets (see the end of the post for a special discount for Squid Ink readers).

So what can you expect from this year's breakfast bacchanal? A lot. Here's a peek at just a few of the vendors you shouldn't miss on Sunday.

5. Eggslut
If you've been to Grand Central Market recently, you might have noticed the line stretching all the way though the damn market, snaking toward the Eggslut stand. Eggslut, which began as a food truck and is now a bona fide phenomenon, probably will have a line at the Pancake Breakfast as well, but we're guessing it won't stretch an entire city block.

4. Kitchen Mouse
It's rare for us to get super excited over a new vegan option in town, but Kitchen Mouse in Highland Park, which opened recently, is serving up some of the tastiest vegan food in town. (Disclaimer: It's not 100 percent vegan. But you can get anything on the menu vegan, and almost everything is vegan anyway.) So tasty, in fact, that we bet you won't even notice that the pancakes they're serving up at the pancake breakfast are vegan as well.

3. Good Girl Dinette
Diep Tran's Vietnamese diner is one of those places you'd be unlikely to find in any other city. On Sunday, they'll be serving two kinds of hand pies: chicken and mushroom. We've had their pies, and they are well worth seeking out.

2. Wexler's Deli
Did you read our Summer Restaurant Issue this week all about Grand Central Market? You should. Another vendor from the market coming to the event is Wexler's Deli, the amazing new deli from Micah Wexler. He'll be serving up some of his already famous smoked fish in the form of the classic Wexler's egg salad with house-smoked salmon.

And the No. 1 can't miss restaurant at this year's event….

1. Salt's Cure
Last year, L.A. Weekly named Salt's Cure the Best Brunch in L.A. Why? Many reasons, one of them being their amazing oatmeal griddle cakes, which is exactly what they'll be serving on Sunday at the Pancake Breakfast. If there's any one pancake to get your mitts on at the event, this is it.
