Traffic Collision near Florence Street Left One Dead
MEAD VALLEY, CA (July 17, 2023) – Early Thursday morning, a pedestrian crash on Cajalco Road left a man with fatal injuries.
The deadly collision happened around 5:12 a.m. at the intersection of Cajalco Road and Florence Street.
According to California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian who appeared to be a transient, walked onto Cajalco. According to reports, a Toyota Tacoma pickup driver failed to stop on time and hit the man.
Responding paramedics eventually arrived at the scene and located the victim unconscious in the middle of the roadway. Unfortunately, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, authorities questioned the pickup driver but they were not arrested.
At this time, the identity of the deceased victim remains undisclosed to the public.
Riverside County Officials partially closed down Cajalco Road for at least three hours as crews cleared the scene. Those with additional information about the fatal pedestrian crash are asked to contact the local authorities as soon as possible.
