Rider Killed in a Motorcycle Collision on Avenue 56

TULARE, CA (September 17, 2021) – A 47-year-old unidentified rider lost his life Saturday night after a motorcycle crash on Avenue 56 in Tulare.

The collision happened around 1:15 p.m. west of Old Stagecoach Road on Avenue 56

According to the CHP, a 47-year-old Visalia man riding a 2016 Harley Davison, traveling westbound on Avenue 56.

For reasons unknown, he veered across double yellow lines into opposing traffic.

As a result, the rider collided head-on with an eastbound 2001 Dodge Ram driven by James Baxley, 84, of Hot Springs.

It’s unclear whether the rider died at the scene or in a hospital.

Meanwhile, the CHP did not state whether the pickup truck driver sustained any injuries in the crash.

At this time, alcohol or illegal substances was not considered a factor in this accident, however, an active investigation is underway.
