Several Injured in Multi-Car Collision near Escondido Canyon Road

SANTA CLARITA, CA (March 24, 2023) – Saturday morning, a wrong-way crash on 14 Freeway left at least four people with injuries.

Police responded to the scene around 9:30 a.m., along the northbound lanes of the freeway near Escondido Canyon Road.

According to the report, a southbound white Toyota Tacoma pickup veered into the northbound lanes, near the center divider.

As a result, the Toyota collided with another vehicle and caused a multi-car crash that involved five vehicles, two of which were overturned. However, the circumstances that led up to the incident remain unclear.

Eventually, medical and fire responders arrived at the scene and transported at least two people to a hospital in critical condition. Two others were hospitalized for minor injuries.

Santa Clarita Officials later issued a SigAlert around 9:39 a.m. closing all the northbound lanes of 14 Freeway.
