Jaws of Life Used in Head-On Collision near Mapleview Street

LAKESIDE, CA (August 10, 2022) – Late Sunday night, four victims were hospitalized following a wrong-way accident on State Route 67.

The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m., near Mapleview Street. According to reports, a Toyota SUV was driving the wrong way on the highway and collided head-on with another car.

Upon impact, the Toyota flipped onto its side, leaving three occupants trapped inside.

Eventually, rescue personnel arrived at the scene and transported three passengers and the driver to a hospital with unspecified injuries. Although, authorities have not released the identities of those involved.

Crews closed the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties before it was later reopened.

At this time, California Highway Patrol Officers continue investigating the wrong-way accident on State Route 67. Once available, further details will be provided.
